Two men charged
with ilegai fishing

TWO BURNABY men appeared in court Monday to
face charges of illegal fishing.

Dave Rene Duruisseau and Dave Paul Foley were
both charged with one count of illegal spear fishing
for salmon, one count of possession of fish that could
not be measured to ascertain legal size and one count
of fishing in a closed portion of Lynn Creek.

The men ‘weve charged Aug. 5 on information from
a federal fisheries officer.

Proceedings against Foley were stayed on ali counts

and proceedings were also stayed against Duruisseau
on two counts of the three illegal fishing charges.

Duruisseau pleaded guilty to the third count of
fishing in a closed area.

North Vancouver provincial court Judge J.D.
Layton slapped Duruvisscau with a $100 fine and a
four-month probation. As well, the Burnaby man
must perform 50 hours of community work during the
first three months of his probation.

Judge Layton ordered the men to forfeit the fish
they had caught.
