YOUNGSTERS FROM ages three
to 63 will enjoy Centennial
Theatre’s second annual Children’s
Super Series show of Norman
Foote & Company Oct. 19.

Foote, who has been performing
for 13 years, says he is not just a
children’s entertainer — he is a
family entertainer because Moms
and Dads tove him too.

Originally from Squamish,
Norman has performed = for
countless schools, festivals, televi-
sion and promotional shows, and
has toured extensively throughout
Canada, New Zealand = and
Australia.

After years of creating puppet
shows, Foote has changed his ap-
proach and emerged as a one-man
show with a fast-moving series of
skits. ‘In puppetry, you're stan-
ding behind something and you're
serving that puppet and that pup-
pet dictates what you've got 10
do...,"” he says.

“Now, PF just bring the guitar
and suitcase and there am.’

Norman is enthusiastic about his
creations. When tl puta character
on, even though Pm net a ven-
triloquist, I focus all my energy to
that character and for some reason
— I’m standing right there and my
mouth is moving — the people are
just watching the character.

“So many times they've come to
me after and said. “Hes! | couldn't
believe that!"
