On youth
and the
future

THE RELEVANCE of the
Boys' and Girls’ Club
movement in an increasingly
interdependent world will be
the focus of an international
conference at the University
of British Coiumbia campus
beginning Sunday, June 9.

More than 200 Boys’ and
Girls’ Club representatives
from 12 countries will par-
ticipate in the week long ac-
tivities organized by the In-
ternational Federation of
Keystone Youth Organiza-
tions (IFKYOI). According
to board chairman Daniel F.
Minahan, ‘‘the federation is
the trade association of the
youth club movement.”’

The conference is billed as
a hands-on opportunity for
the development of | skills
and awareness needed to
promote a dialogue between
young people across nations
and cultures. Its futurist
theme stresses global in-
terdependence as a growing
trend.

Featured is a keynote
speech by Willis Harman,
President of the Institute of

Fate. Noetic Sciences, who has

ing full time to explore the
future. Harman's address,
