It all stems from the quick thinking of Cst. Jean-Luc Lemay when he was .con- fronted with an infant who had stopped breathing. Lemay was investigating an accident in the 4300 block of Gallant Avenue last Fri- day around 10 p.m. when he noticed (wo women standing further down the street who kept looking at him. While he was talking to the complainant at the acvi- dent scene one of the women approached him, carrying a baby. Lemay said the woman asked for help, tear- fully explaining that her baby had stopped breathing. “To was nervous. When | first looked at the baby, | was scared, He was hot. His eves were wide open and he was looking up at me and | thought, ‘Oh, my God." said Lemay. Lemay said he immediate- ly took the infant to a near- by restaurant and called for an ambulance, “The baby didn*t look well at all, He looked red in the face and he was strugyl- ing for air.’ said Lemay.
