Lions ‘Cook’ up bi

But Roughies don’t like the taste

“Cook”"ed up a
Sunday at Norgate Park.
Troy Cook scored two
outstanding touchdowns to
lead the Lions to their
victory over the Roughies
Cook scored his first
mayor in the second quarter
when he intercepted a pass
and ran SO yards into the
Rougme end zone Then, on

the last play of the half,
Cook took the ball from
lion's quarterback Jeff

Gawran and strode another

KO yards for his second
touchdown
Jeff Werrun started the

lions scoring attack with a
six yard plunge over center
in the first quarter of play
Neal Fraser played a strong
game on, defense for the
winners, while Gawran was
an offensive standout in the

19-6 defeat for the Roughies

game
In other Minor football
action, the Bombers

squeaked by the Browns in a
7-6 defensive game

Tim Yeo = scored the
winning trouchdown with
John Cox scoring the
deciding convert The

Bombers were led by Trevor
Mayes. while Brett Creemer
came up with the needed
defense for dhe winning side

Philip Mitchell put in a
solid two-way effort for the
Browns, scomng the lone
touchdown and keeping the
game close with his play on
defence

In Jumor Bantam play, the
Chargers stumped the
Stamps 20-6, behind the play

Bauchman, who scored two
majors. Quarterback Greg
McClure rounded out the
Chargers scoring attack with
one TD. Mark Nelson and
Danny Neola scored one
conversion each for the

The Stamps only major
came on a 90 yard kickoff
return by Kurt Larsen. Mark
Menchion = scored the

Both the Eskimos and the
Chiefs went into their
Sunday Jumor bantam game
with 2-0 records, but it was

the Esks who came. out
unblemished
The Esks downed the

Squamish Chiefs 60 in a
hard fought defensive battle
for first place The game's
lone touchdown came on a
65 yard reverse which saw
Craig Morgan) score’ the
winner Quarterback
Dave Shera played a strong

win in GSL

game as he guided the Esks
to the important victory.

David Culling and Rob
Morgan helped shutout the
Chiefs with their defensive
efforts.

In other Jumor Bantam
action, the Steelers downed
the Vikings 26-12 behind a
three touchdown effort by
Tommy King. He added one
conversion to finish the day
with 19 points Sean Grant
scored the other Stecler
touchdown on a 50 yard pass
and run play Tim Metcalfe

was the Steeler defensive
stalwart
In Bantam action, the

Colts and the Titans played a
rematch of last year’s
championship game with the
Colts coming out on top 22
&

Chns Benjamin came up
with a great all round effort,
