Yet, frequently he faces critical salary situations. More discontent. and/or ‘hard negotiations. When the cost of doing business goes. up, managers usually double their sales or production efforts or in- crease their prices rather than scrutinize their costs. Without rigid controls in- creased business ' increases costs. For example, one manfufacturer increased sales 42 per cent in 18 months.
