the ski season is over for this year.

The provincial government
announced plans two weeks
ago to ‘‘privatize’’ ski opera-
tions at Cypress and
Hollyburn’ in return for a
lump sum payment and an
annual payment of two per
cent of gross revenuc.

Included in the sale will be
the rights to operate the ski

According to some of
those now at Cypress, many
people on the Lower
Mainland have taken the an-
nouncement of the sale as an
indication that the hill is now
closed for the 1983-84
season.

They say they have receiv-
ed a number ‘of tclephone
calls asking why the facilities
are being closed while there is
still snow.
