A BURGLAR who broke into. a North Vancouver home Monday morning came face to face with the occupant. who had been working in the basement After hearing noises of the burglar breaking in. the resident had armed himself with a cam shaft. The sight of # was enough to scare the burglar straight through the doorway he had just broken through. Still he found he'd bitten off more than he could handie, because the oc- cupant chased after him through neighbors’ yards. A suspect’ was arrested shortly after. when police were led by a tracker dog to a neighboring garage. where it is alleged they found a man hiding. The sequence of events began at about |! a.m. when the owner of 2045 Fell Avenue heard a loud thump while he was working in the basement. A second thump was followed by the sound of splintering wood as the door of his home was kicked in. The man grabbed a cam shaft and went upstairs where he confronted the burglar, who fled and ran through properties. Though the occupant of the burgled house lost his quarry in the chase, he called the RCMP from a neighbor's home. A tracker dog led police to a nearby garage where a man was arrested. RCMP report that the man arrested was also wanted on an outstanding warrant from Alberta on suspicion. of possessing stolen property. Darry!
