SCHOLARSHIP WINNER NORTH VANCOUVER resident Greg James Herman is the 1991 spring recipient of the Vancouver Stock Exchange (VSE) Scholarship at Simon Fraser University (SFU). Herman is enrolled in the facul- ty of business and is majoring in computer science with a minor in business administration. He has attained a cumulative grade point average of 4.05, The SFU scholarship is one of 14 VSE Educational! Scholarships and grants. The VSE provides fi- nancial support to the three leading universities in B.C., seven regional colleges and the B.C. In- stitute of Technology. Duke will update the members on the students the club has assisted in the past as well as presenting information on the new scholarship and bursary program, which is eligible for matching funds from the provincial gov- ernment. The club sponsors two bur- saties. The Margaret Campbell Bursary is in recognition of former Ald. (VPC) posted a total tonnage throughput in 1990 of 66.4 million tonnes, the port’s second highest total, and a step towards 1988's all time high of 71.3 million ton- nes. The 1990 figure also represents a 3.8 per cent over the previous year’s total of 64 million tonnes. Containers, measured in twen- ty-foot equivalent units (TEU’s), climbed to a new port record of 322,569, up 5.6 per cent from the 1989 figure of 305,688.
