AT THE Canadian Home
Builders’ Association of
British Columbia’s recent
annual conference in Vic-
toria, nine separate awards
were presented to companies
and individuals within the
housing industry.

The awards, received in
recognition of outstanding
achievement in residential
construction, covered all

facets of the industry from |

Single family homes inside
and outside metro areas,
multi-family complexes
under and over 24 units,
land development, technical
innovation, and renovation.

Said CHBA-BC president,
Andre Molnar, ‘*We were
delighted with the number of
entries this year. They came
from ail sectors of the in-
dustry and represented the
wide spectrum of activity
that exists across the pro-
vince.”

Entrants were judged ac-

' cording to established

criteria ty a five member
panel of housing experts
from government and in-
dustry. For the second con-
secutive year, the CHBA-BC
and the Ministry of Social
Services and Housing com-
bined to form the awards
cormmitiee.

to Cottage Grove Develop-
ments for Manchester Cor-
ners in Victoria and to Col-
ony Construction Ltd. for
the Gables at Fir Tree Glen,
also in Victoria. United
Properties Ltd. received
special honorary mention for
a number of projects and for
demonstrated expertise and
innovation in multi-family
construction.
