B16 - Sunday, October 16, 1983 - North Shore News Stories and photos by ELLSWORTH DICKSON Hidden away on the Seymour River in North Van- couver is the home of Harvey and Railie Jackson. What makes this house so special is the huge three-quarter acre lot complete with swimming pool. Also, it is one of the few riverfront properties which has a natural sand beach. Just perfect for enter- taining large groups of peo- ple, both the home and the property offer privacy and lots of space. Near the river is a beautiful stone barbeque. One of the unique features is a tunnel which leads from the recreation room, goes under the back yard and emerges on the grassy lower lawn. When the Jacksons moved into the 35-year-old home, they did some renovations in- cluding completely remodell- ing the kitchen. An island counter with a Jenn-Aire range was added as was a double oven. The large living room has open beams and a floor-to- ceiling fireplace. Up and down, there is about 4,000 square feet of space. There are four bedrooms pilus a den. Other features include new carpets and drapes, a cabana, a great wet bar in the recreation room which also has a fireplace, and a double carport. ; The architecture of this TOP, THE JACKSON home on the Seymour River sits on a =~ home, which is presently on three quarters acre property.
