In his earlier days of acting, after he had left Simon Fraser University to attend the Playhouse Acting School, Adams used to say “I can't believe I'm being paid for this.” What Adams is being paid to do at the moment, is play the role of a German baron, who besides singing and dancing and _ acting mysteriously, also has to change into a werewolf on Stage. He says the role is “ex- tremely challenging.” Adams says he finds the singing the most difficult, because he has not done any since high school. Ef- fectively changing into a werewolf on stage “was much easier than I even imagined,” he said. Having taught movement for actors at Studio 58, Adams was somewhat prepared for a role which involves leaping around and carrying people into the audience. _But he admits it is all very exhausting. o curse to bea On opening night, he said, “I was just wiped.” But since then the play has been ‘performed: at least once a day; and Adams said the audience ‘has. been largely responsible for keeping him going. “It’s the ideal combination of kids and adults together.” For someone -who has primarily been interested in Shakespearian theatre, Adams said the comic role WHILE LON CHANEY, as the wolfman back in 1941 may have looked mean, West Van's Don Adams says that a-werewolf really isn’t all that bad.
