Wednesday, June 23, 1999 — North Shore News - 13 Arson hits North Van apartment biock THREE fires were intentionally set in an apart- ment building June 15 in the 100-block of West 21st Street in North Vancouver. According to the North Vancouver RCMP, the fires were set in the building's lobby, laundry room and stairwell. The fires caused nitnimal damage. North Vancouver City Fire and Rescue spokesman Dave Burgess said the apartment manager put out the first fire with an extinguisher and called the fire department. As firefighters were {caving the building, a second fire was discovered. It was also. quickly extinguished. The third fire, set less than three hours atter the first, went out on its own. Burgess said that the fires were started using newspapers and Papers in the area and lit by a match or lighter. Area residents have been warned to be on the lookout for fires, said Burgess.
