Scarecrow, the Tinman, the lion, the wicked witches, Oz and Glinda and at least one new character, Dennis — you wonder who this new character could be you'll have to see the production. It's going to be lots of fun. We have a director, musical director, choreogra- pher and pianist. We have been working on it since the beginning of the year 2000 and will perform in April. A student named Ava says “T always like the choir’s musicals but I think this one will be the best!” The choir works very hard, sacrificing sleep to arrive at school before cight at least owo days a week. Those with singing solos or acting parts practise up to four mornings 2 week and sacrifice their lunch hours on a regular tssis. OW WE An actor in The Wizard of Oz says, “It’s tough getting up in the mornings so early for practice but I guess if we want to do a great job we really have to work together and make some sacrifices.” Everyone is very excited about the production and tries to de: their best whether it’s learning a new song or memorizing lines. As an added challenge this year, students are also learning dance numbers. A student who has seen the dances says, “These dances are great, the chore- ography really makes a differ- ence to making this a special production.” Singing, dancing and act- ing — these students are really lucky to have such dedicated teachers willing to help them have the Oz experience!
