Students fight world hunger ARGYLE SECONDARY School students raised over $6,000 to fight hunger in the Third World ‘during World Vision’s 30 Hour Famine. The event is designed to raise awareness and funds for those less fortunate in other parts of the world. After gathering sponsorship from friends and relatives, par- ticipating students went without food for thirty hours while they watched videos, played games and discussed hunger in the Third World. This year, fasting students from across Canada raised over $1 mil- lion for World Vision, a relief and development agency which provides immediate relief and long-term development in Third World countries. Rob Luxton, World Vision’s atea representative, recently made a presentation to Argyle students to thank them on behalf of the people of the Third World for be- ing among the most generous and concerned students pasticipating in the event.
