TED DOBSON, a noted Lynn Valley community figure,
church and family man, died last Saturday at the age of 77.

Since coming to Lynn Valley in
1939, Dobson was an active con-
tributor to his community and
North Vancouver.

As a fong-time member and
chairman of the Lynn Valley
Ratepayers Association, Dobson
saw Lyon Valley grow from a few
houses to a thriving community.

As a community organizer he

building the present Lynn Valley
United Church.

Dobson was also an experienced
pianist who played the accom-
paniment for many church fune-
tions.

While his community efforts
were centred around the valley, he
was also a great supporter of the
North Shore and was a_ keen

member of the North Shore His-
torical Society.

A memorial setvice was held for
Dobson May 21 in the Highlands
United Church.

Valley’s first volunteer fire
department; organizing Lynn
Valley “Day, for which he often
acted as master of ceremonies; and
