[he business office worker course is the only one af- fected at Capilano College, said Gallagher, although other courses are affected at other colleges. “*This doesn’t mean that because we are reducing the intake (for the program) we are limiting the opportunity of students,’’ Gallagher said. He said the government has ordered the cuts because students can ‘‘receive a com- parable education presumably at a comparable cost’? from other agencies. Gallagher said where Capilano College has been funded for 32,000 traning hours for office administra- tion courses a year, they have been told to allow for 2,400 less. That means that instead of eight groups of students receiving business office training, only seven will under the new funding, he added. Gallagher said it was ‘‘premature’’ to say if the cuts in the business office training program were the sign of things to come. — Designer Wallcovering Books 25% EL SATIN WHITE LATEN ter 4 Lathes i y aS § Cloverdale PAINT N’ PAPER Rey. $22.98 Regular Prices All - Wednesday, February 15, 1984 - North Shore News CLOCKS Service & Repair Grandfathers Antiques HOUSECALLS REASONABLE PRICES 271-9088 After 5:00 P.M.
