Al9 - Sunday, December 18, 1983 - North Shore News C.A.P. Crime Awareness Program Quick action by a West Vancouver couple stopped thieves from making off with their goods. The couple, awakened by the sound of someone prowling in their house, telephoned police, bringing them quickly to the 4600-block of Keith. The thieves, who had entered the house through an unlocked patio door, made good their escape. But they were forced to dump their would-be booty — a VHS video recorder, a stereo receiver and a cassette deck, all of which were recovered. Other break-ins during the past week: * Friday, December 9, between | and 3 p.m., someone forc- ed open a window at a home in the 1400-block Lawson and stole cash from a purse in the house. * Friday, December 9, at 9 p.m., a woman and her daughter returned to their 4700-block Meadfield residence and surpris- ed a prowler inside.
