Off-duty cops helped

in West Van arrest

TWO off-duty police officers
dining out -separately at
Trolls Restaurant in Hor-
seshoe Bay Saturday ended

up helping out a colleague in

an arrest.

West Vancouver had sent
an officer to the Troller pub
at about noon to respond to
a complaint about a
disturbance involving two
drunks.

He found that aithough
the two had been thrown out

tinuing their abusive behavior
in the street and that a street
sign had been damaged at
the foot of Royal Avenue.

A police spokesman says
the officer tried to arrest the
two “and the fight was on”.

Luckily for the constable,
a staff sergeant in the local

‘police force and a Van-
couver policeman were both
in Trolls restaurant and went

~ to his assistance.

Between the three of them

one of the men who had
been struggling.

Two men from Sointula
were arrested and have been
charged as a result of the
incident.

Ronald George Minshull,
aged 40, and Robert Allen
Tynjala, aged 22, are
charged with causing a
disturbance. Tynjala is also
charged with resisting arrest,
mischief and possession of
stolen property - two credit
