Did last - week's column
ever cause a kafuffle-down at
C P. Air! by “Thursday. ~

morning,. their switchboard .
was jumping with calls from’ -.
**white. knuckle’’ .
flyers, anxious to get busy -

assorted.

with a class to help them
conquer, their fear of flying.
Unfortunately,
man who :recéived:: “most of ”
the calls-hadn't a.clue what
they were talking qbout.

To make matters worse—
the. person who gave me my
information just wasn't up to
date with. the. facts. It
appears that. these classes
aren't, very successful. -.

Moir,. Manager of. public
relations ‘«“CP (Western
Canada) Air. He told me that
the University and
YWCA have both-had ago at
running this type of class and

CP -Air has co-operated.
Unfortunately, they. have
died out from lack of interest.

He told me that one class

of 20 had only one successful.

booked. passage on a rival
airline! He:went on to say .

‘that his airline had absolutely
“no. intention” of: “producing ©

‘these classes, now or’ ever,

but that they would: certainly
co-operate again with- any
service or school organization
who might give it a try.

ance rates-for aircrews when
they are travelling on the
ground—to and from the
airport, than they do when -

they are flying. That certain-.

Although everyone laughs
at me, I have to admit that

THat’s not being brave since
wasn't scared in the first

Which leads me toa story:

We were staying with
friends who had rented a
juxurious villa in - Puerto
Vallerta, Mexico. Since our
sleeping aréa didn’t have
_ extra closet place, we stored
our suitcases in, the large
cupboard in.. the :bathroom
.and..unpacked ‘as: We needed
‘clean clothes. _

We had: spent the morning
lying around the: pool and,
. after I had reached a nice

inside for a shower.

"First, I took, off my
sunglasses which are pres-
cription lenses (I need strong
lenses to see ten-foot signs!)

and, placed.,them on the
counter. Then, I opened the
cupboard to get clean clothes
from the suitcase.

As I tugged at the case,

And.so did one of the. other
guys—with camera in hand.

_ Husband threw open the
bathroom door to: find me
standing_on the top of the
toilet seat, totally blind
pointing in the general
direction of the eight-legged.
party-crasher.

With a dexterity 1 didn’t
realize he possessed, he
tossed me a_ towel while

- placing a firm hand over the
_ camera lens. All this while he

was stomping coggedly inthe
general area of the spider!
