Run for research

NORTH SHORE residents can run
for research.

The Run for Research, sched-
uled for June 1 in North Van-
couver, is a fund-raising event
promoting fitness, raising the
community profile of the Lions
Gate Medical Research Foundation
and raising funds to support
health-related research projects at
Lions Gate Hospital and in the
North Shore community. -

valuable contribution to the medi-
cal research that directly affects
their health care.”

Starting at 9 a.m., the 10 km run
(or 7 km walk) starts at William
Griffin Park, 851 West Queens,
and finishes at Larson School,
2605 Larson, (separate route for
the walkers).

Pre-registration is $10, registra-
tion on the day is $12. All partici-

Check-in and registration is
from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Sunday
morning at William Griffin Park,
with pre-run warm-up being con-
ducted by the North Shore Y at the
park.

Funds raised by the Run for
Research are used to increase the
foundation's capital account. Only
interest is used to fund the research
projects submitted to the founda-

tion each year.
