Net season tightens THE senior girls’ volleyball regular season wraps up Tuesday evening with a trio of matches in school gyms across the North Shore. West Vancouver hosts crosstown rivals Sentinel; Carson Graham pays a visit to the Windsor Dukes; and Seycove travels to Sutherland to take on the Sabres. All matches begin at 7 p.m. Tomorrow night at 7 p.m., the Argyle Pipers host Handsworth, while the Highlanders of West Vancouver travel to St. Thomas Aquinas for a 7 p.m. start. In a Tuesday night mecting of the North Share leagues’ top talents last week, the Highlanders swept the Argyle Pipers in three straight games (15-10, 15-11, 15-10). The win was especially satisfying for the Highlanders considering the Pipers were still on a high from their UBC Invitational Tournament victory. The top nvo teams, regardless of status (i.e. single-A, double-A, triple-A) advance te the North Shore final, to be held at the first place team’s gym on Tuesday, Nov. 4. James Ballard, competing in the nine- and 10-vear-old category, placed first in his 50- metre butterfly race and added runner-up honors in both the 100-metre individual medicy and the 50-metre freestyle.
