Open Letter to Doug Collins:

1 am writing in response to your
Jan. 23 article, “Let's join the ladies”.

I did not choose to be born female.
Nevertheless, in this day and age, Iam
able to see my gender as less of a disad-
vantage than being female was to
women before me; | can look forward
to equality in schooling, equality in the
job market, and reduced discrimination
in the world at large. J can be secure in
my status as an enfranchised human
being — or can 2?

Your attitude towards women is
based on the unrealistic belief that ‘we’
are taking over the world. Ever hear of

Whar I advocate is the end of igno-

are everywhere — but we're not here to
take over the world.

I have decided not to be offended by
your article, which displays a feeble
attempt to undermine the “insurgence”
of the “fems,” as you scem to see it.

{nstead, 1 am determined to be
amused by the ridiculous claims therein.
I am able to do this, not because IT ama
woman, but for the simple reason that 1

you sit down in your easy

Collins. To some of them I
asked, “Why do you say that
when you have mentioned
