deferred by North Vancouver
District Council on Monday.

Coun. Ernie Crist had proposed
that council support a request from
the Lower Capilano Community
Residents Association to oppose
any appeal by the rugby club of the
Provincial Liquor Licensing
Board’s December denial of the
Class A licence.

John Olmstead, president of the
tugby club, told council that many
of the residents opposing the
licence application on the grounds
of noise and traffic Jive cast of

-Capilano Road and could not be

directly affected by the issue.

Don Greenwood, a member of
the club, said Capilano Rugby Club
isa family-oriented facility that
serves all three municipalities on
the North Shore.

Klahanie Park is in) West
Vancouver, access lo the facility is
off Capilano Rowd in the district.

“It's tenuous that we have any-
thing more than a moral say. The
Liquor Licensing Board will be
dealing with West Vancouver
