Warm weather best for exterior

WHAT IS suitable weather to
paint the exterior of my home?

You need warm, dry weather
conditions. Be sure that there have
been at least three dry days since
it last rained, or since you washed
the surface to be painted.

The temperature must be above
10°C (SO°F), with no rain, for the
first four to eight hours after ap-
plying most paints.

The dry time shown on most
paint can labels is ‘calculated at a

temperature of 25°C (77°C), and
50% relative humidity.

For every 10°C drop in
temperature you can double the
dry time. For example, if the dry
time is 16 hours at 25°C, then it
will be 32 hours at [5°C,

Do not paint in direct sunlight
as the paint will set up too fast.

Try to ‘‘follow the sun,’’ and
paint the areas that have been left
in the shade.
