CHAMBER NEWS THE NORTH Vancouver Chamber of Commerce received the B.C. Chamber of Commerce Award for first place in recogni- tion of its efforts to promote the chamber during Chamber of Commerce Week 1993 for com- munities with a population over 75,000. The award was accepted by president-elect John Lakes of the North Vancouver law firm Lakes, Straith and Bilinsky. The chamber put on a variety of events during the chamber of commerce week including semi- nars, speaking engagements and their participation in the annual Duck Dance, with proceeds going to the North Shore Services Socie- ty.
