Deaths

BRYAN - Ichn M. (Mel) passed away
peacefully in Lions Gate Hospital,
January 8, 1992 in his BOth year. He is
survived by his loving wife of 52 years,
Evelyn; nieces and nephews in Canada
and the U.S. and many dear friends and
neighbors. Predeceased by his brothers
David and Roy; and sisters’ Patricia
(Voulter) and Kathteen (Bradshaw). Mel
published the Review Weekly Newspaper
for 20 years. In the 1950's he served as
an Alderman in the city and was later
elected as M.LA. to the B.C. Legislature
for North Vancouver. He retuned to the
newspaper business in 1964, employed
by Pacific Press, retiring from that
company i 1981. Mel's many interests
included agriculture and gardening and
upon retirement he developed a hobby
farm in Hatzic Prairie, until ill health
forcea him to give it up. He was a
former member of the North Vancouver
Kinsmen Club, the Elks Lodge and
Association of Ex-M.LA.’s of B.C. A
Private family service of remembrance
will be held at North Lonsdale United
Church, Saturday, January 18 at 1:00
p.m. Flowers gratefully dectined. If
desired, donations may be made to the
Canadian Red Cross Society.

EMPLOYMENT

A MEMORIAL service for John Ernest
Parkinson, who passed away December
28, 1991, will be held on Friday,
January 17, 1992 at 1:30 p.m. at the
United Church, 2062 Esquimalt Ave.,
West Vancouver. The Rev. Jom Otiver of-
ficiating. Reception to follow im-

mediately after at the Church. Mr. ,

Parkinson was a resident of West Van-
couver since 1944. Born January 11,
1900. In lieu of flowers, a donation may
be made to the Cancer Society.

HOILE - Jean, passed away on January
10, 1992, 83 years of age. She will be
sadly missed by all who knew and loved
her. especially her husband Don; her
sister Jessie and family; her brother Rob
and family; son Donald and wife Lor-
raine; son Geoff and wife Ann; grand-
children David, Kathy, Dianne, Susan,
Tony and Jennifer; and nine great-
grandchildren. A memorial service will
be held Thursday, January 16 at 2pm in
First Memorial Chapel, North Vancouver.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be
made to The Salvation Army.

ROBINSON - Kathleen Mary (nee Wen-
moth). Born in Vancouver New Year's
Eve, 1907. Predeccased by her husband
Patrich J. Robinson. Kay leaves her
sister Emma Frances (“Effie”); nephew
Norton W. Youngs (Louise), grandniece
Noreen Angus (Robert), grandnephew
Brent Youngs.

Kay had no children of her own, but
always advanced care and consideration
of the younger generations among her
relatives and many friends and in the
British Columbia Primary Education
System. She taught im Lund, Okeover
Arm, Lytton, Alert Bay, Richmand and
Strathcona Scheal in Vancouver.

Our sincere thanks to Shylo Nursing
Services for their loving care of Kay.
Flowers dechned in favour of donations
to Alzheimers Society of Canada. Memo-
rial service will be held in St.
Christopher's Anglican Church, 1068
inglewood Ave (at Iith Street), West
Vancouver, The Venerable Lou Rivers of-
ficiating, Friday, January 17, 1992, at
2pm. Hollyburn Funeral Home in care of
arrangements.
