(Mel) passed away peacefully in Lions Gate Hospital, January 8, 1992 in his BOth year. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Evelyn; nieces and nephews in Canada and the U.S. and many dear friends and neighbors. Predeceased by his brothers David and Roy; and sisters’ Patricia (Voulter) and Kathteen (Bradshaw). Mel published the Review Weekly Newspaper for 20 years. In the 1950's he served as an Alderman in the city and was later elected as M.LA. to the B.C. Legislature for North Vancouver. He retuned to the newspaper business in 1964, employed by Pacific Press, retiring from that company i 1981. Mel's many interests included agriculture and gardening and upon retirement he developed a hobby farm in Hatzic Prairie, until ill health forcea him to give it up. He was a former member of the North Vancouver Kinsmen Club, the Elks Lodge and Association of Ex-M.LA.’s of B.C. A Private family service of remembrance will be held at North Lonsdale United Church, Saturday, January 18 at 1:00 p.m. Flowers gratefully dectined.
