NCRTH WEST Vancouver Ringette Association Belle ‘‘B’’ Blades
took kome second place honors in recent provincial champion-
ships.

i After downing Delta Belles and Prince George Belles and tying
Vancouver Island Debs in round robin play, the Blades lost a
heartbreaker 9-8 to Delta Belles in the final game.

| | In other action, Tween “‘B’’ Eagles came out of their round

| robin with wins against Richmond 8-1 and Vanderhoof 7-3 but fell
to Prince George 6-5 in an overtime semi-final.

Im the novice division, the Cougars emerged with wins against

Abbotsford 14-5, Coquitiam 10-6, Delta 7-3 and Prince George:

12-5 good enough for a third place win.

The championships bring to a close the North West Vancouver
Ringette Association’s season. .

f RAIN ENDED the last day of play for North Vancouver's Grant
| Connell at ihe Davis Cup American Zone semi-final in Argentina.

: The final score saw Canada lose 3-0 to Argentina. On Friday, the
Canadian team lost its two singles matches, and on Saturday, lost
its doubles match to lose the best-of-five series.

AFTER WRAPPING up regular season konors, Paul's Shoe
Repair senior men’s soccer team completed a double sweep beating
North Vancouver Bouits 4-2 in the final game.

Goal scorers for Paul’s were Ross (Oscar) Forgie, with Wayne
Stewart and Barry Clemiss. John Mitchel! pleyed with a winning
effort in goal.
