10 - Sunday, March 1, 1987 - North Shore Mews 40-UNIT PROJECT NV District housing a MINISTER of Social Services and Housing Claude Richmond and MLA for North Vancouver-Seymour Jack Davis recently announced the conditional ap- proval of a 40-unit project for senior citizens in the District of North Vancouver to be sponsored by the Mount Seymour Plaza Housing Society. This conditional approval is made under the Non- Profit Housing Program which is cost shared with the federal government through the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation. The Mount Seymour Plaza Housing Society will now be able to borrow up to 100 per cent of the development cost of the project from an approved private lending institution. This conditional approval is made under the Non-Profit Hous- ing Program which is cost shared with the federal government through the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation. The North Shore Housing Co- operative will now be able to bor- row up to’!00 per cent of the development cost of the project from an approved private lending institution. The first mortgage financing on the loan will be jointly insured by the two levels of government. Under the new social housing agreement, signed during July 1986, the financial approval for the construction of this project will be administered by the British Columbia Housing Management Commission through its home of- fice located in Burnaby. Upon completion of the project, the commission will be responsible for the payment of subsidy to the North Shore Housing Co-operative which will ensure that the future tenants pay no more than 30 per cent of income for this accom- modation. These subsidy payments will be shared by the provincial and federal governments. Dial a dietitian THE B.C.
