C3 - Wednesday, August 26, 1981 - North Shore News NIGHT SCHOOL NOTES Take your lunch to school By LOIS LIGHT « One of the most promising-sounding of the new mini-courses mentioned last week will be In- ternational Fair — four food-filled evenings, each given by a different culinary expert, in Spanish cooking, Itahan, East Indian and French. I can smell the garlic and curry now! There will be lots of courses on those four nights in November, and before many weeks you'll be in possession of the new fall brochure which will outline details, of those courses and all the regulars. Most of your old faithfuls will be back and of course you'll get your usual offering of new titles. I hope you can hardly wait! Take Your Lunch To Night School is the titillating title of another new venture coming up — from 12:10 to 12:50 noon, on Tuesdays, at the library. There'll be a course on Grapho-Analysis which you can enjoy while you munch your lunch. As you can see your Night School staff is determined you'll not waste a moment this fall. If this little teeny course goes over well, you can be sure there'll be more to follow. The North Shore Adult Education is sponsoring the North Shore Family Services Programs which will be offering subjects varying from parenting to remarriage counsefling. Many of you will be wat- ching for this with an- ticipation. Are you aware that poor beleaguered, bummed and now pulled-down Delbrook has a remnant on its campus? Well, it’s there on the south end, and it’s offering two daytime courses: Moms And Tots Keep Fit and Yoga For The Overweight. the Don’t forget that if the evening classes are not ‘convenient, or present transportation or boogey- man problems, there will be a number of day classes. Watch particularly for them — too many North-shorers don't realize they're there. The human guests were a bit disappointed, but not enough to ruin their own appetites for cookies made of mealworms. It all happened last week as the Smithsonian Institute celebrated the fifth an- niversary of its Insect Zoo. which was the first of its kind when it opened its doors in 1976. Smithsonian officials don't know whether the zoo remains unique, but any lack of emulators would be understandable. The — tur- nover rate is something fierce. Zoo director Kay Weisberg said of the 20 to 30 kinds of insects on exhibit, only tarantulas live long enough to have been around when the zoo opened Some of the bugs on display have life spans measured in Part-time Gay courses available including weeks. There is a large insect breeding room just off the zoo’s main showroom on the third floor of the Museum of Natural History. Under- studies not hatched there are contributed by private collectors. Weisberg said there are 56 varieties of edible bugs simply loaded with protein and other nutritional ingredients. But such dishes are more popular in other capilano lege IMPORTANT NOTICE FROM Wolo A Woolco Back to School flyer appeared in the Aug. 26 issue of the NSN.
