Buttered rum

Here's as recipe you might want
to keep on hand. I must admit I
haven't tried it — ! just don’t like
rum. However, it comes highly
recommended by people who do.
A container of this mix in your
freezer might be just the thing to
please guests arriving through the
snow, Isn't it funny how much we
used to love the white stuff when
we didn't have to drive in it?
Hot-Buttered Rum Mix
1 pint extra-rich vanilla

ice cream
V2 pound real butter, softened
1 cup dark brown sugar, packed

Soften the ice cream until it can
be beaten gently with a hand mix-
er. Combine with the other ingre-
dients, thoroughly but don't whip.

Store in the freezer. To serve:
Spoon a heaping tablespoon of the
mix into a coffee mug. Add a
gencrous shot of dark rum and fill
the cup with boiling water.
