Squadron to hold change-of-command parade

SIX FIELD Engincer Squadron —
the North Shore’s only military
unit — will hold a change-of-
conimand parade Saturday, Nov 7.

Commanding officer Major Bill
White will temporarily hand over

1:45 p.m. at the Le.-Cot. J.P. Fell
Armoury, 1513 Forbes Ave.. near
Mahon Park.

The band of the Royal
Westminster Regiment will per-
form at the parade, which will be

attended by a number of military
and civil dignitaries. A reception
will follow and all interested
members of the public are invited
to attend.

Six Field Engineer Squadron was

formed in 1912 by the late Lt.-Col.
James Pemberton Fell, after whom
the armories and both Pemberton
and Fell avenues are named.

The unit, which carries a
strength of almost 100, continues

to seek people interested in a paid
militia ‘hobby,"? in particular,
those with previous military ser-
vice, although this is not a prere-
quisite. Applicants should be be-
tween 17 and 49 years of age.
