amateur design

OLSEN’S pale grey pantsuit epitomizes the
European label's sleek style for fall. Amateur design-
ers are invited to create clothing for the fall 2000 line.

A European fashion
company is inviting
amateur Canadian
designers to create for
its label.

Olsen Fashion Canada,

the Canadian subsidiary of

European-based international
women’s apparel company
Volff and Olsen has launched
a design contest that will sce
the winning creations fea-
tured in Olsen's fall 2000
line.

The collection is available
in 26 countries around the
world. Shoppers can find it
locally at Wear Else? in Park
Royal’s south omll and
Manilyn’s in Caulteild Village.

Designers are being asked
to capture Olsen’s distinctive
style in fabrics that have been
chosen by the company's
European office.

The contest provides an
opportunity for amateur
designers ta add a Canadian
presence to the European col-
lection, said Lynn Baskett,
the company’s vice-president
of marketing.

The winning designs will
be featured in an upcoming
issue of Canadian Living
magazine.
