Cancer Society celebrates 60th with thanks

COMMUNITY spirit thrives on the North Shore. Terrific people
committed to and achieving wondertul works. Phe West Vancouver
unit or the Canadian Cancer Society: recently hosted its 00th
Anniversary Volunteer Vhank You Party to celebrate the chants ’s
birthday and te thank the volunteers who make good things hao
pen.

The event took place at 7:30) pun. on May 6 at St. Stephens

Festivities mcluded a warm and enthusiasts speech by vit pres
ident Sally Sapinsky, certificate presentations to business and coat
munity supporters, plus a cake cutting ceremony with special muest

Canadian Cancer Society CEQ) Barbara Kaminsky was alse
in attendance to present wo special provinciat awards the
Partnership Award to the Breast Self kxaminauon Conmunity
Chnic, and the Award of Distinenion in Volunteer Leadership to
Sally Sapinsky.

Tt was a particularly wondertul arfair because of the terrific peo
ple who filled the room: dedicated, hard working, caring volun
