Fall’s new neutrals worn tone-on-tone

LET’S FACE it, neutral
colors aren't new. No mat-
ter. how many names de-
signers and. manufacturers
give them, and boast that
their color basics are seen
for the first time, they have
been around forever.

Beecher’s Brook feminine suits
have softly rounded shoulders, fit
close to the body, and reach well
below thigh or are cut in chic little

shapes.

Long oor short) skirts, wide-
legged trousers, vests and
bodysuits complement in tone-
on-tone shades of putty, stone,
and taupe.

Runaway Bay leans toward
woodsy earth tones in loden (dark)
green, terra cotta (deep rust),
pinecone (dark) brown and night
sky or French (navy) blue.

Pullovers in shaker knit, cable
knit and hand knit have rolled
necks and are oversized to pull
over knitted stirrup pants, denim
shirts, vests, suede twill pants and
wool blazers,

Equestrian jackets, riding pants
and suede jodhpurs can all be
layered in monotone looks, too.
Uniform-inspired double-breasted
jackets and vests, chalk-striped
pantsuits and poet's blouses are
also shown in neutral colors.

pean-inspired salt-and-pepper
tweed blazers and matching long
skirts, wool cable-knit pullovers,
