Quay lands
marketing
honor

LONSDALE QUAY was honored
recently for excellence in market-
ing from the International Council
of Shopping Centres.

The North Vancouver public
market took first place tite in
Marketing for Specialty Centres
for its April 1988 Musical Quays
Promotion, in which Quay mer-
chants sponsored a major fund-
raising campaign for the finan-
cially troubled Vancouver Sym-
phony Orchestra. Over $9,000 was
donated to the VSO trust fund.

One hundred and fifty one Ca-
nadian shopping centres entered
the competition in different
categories.

“it’s always nice to be recogniz-
ed by your peers,’” Lonsdale Quay
Market general manager Particia
Parente said of the award. ‘To
think that the Quay is under
50,009 GLA (square feet) and won
over much larger centres — we
feel pretty proud.”’

Ie is the third major award pres-
ented to Lonsdale Quay Market at
the ICSC national competition
since its opening in 1986.
