Food safety
seminar slated

THE NORTH Shore Health
Department (NSHD) has scheduled:
a free Food Safety and Disease
Control seminar Nov. 5 at the
Lions Gate Hospital’s auditorium.

Scheduled to run from 7:30 p.m.
to 9:30 p.m., the seminar will be
open to representatives from res-
taurants, long-term care and
child-care facilities.

Topics that will be covered in
the seminar will
- poisoning prevention, safe food
handling techniques and rodent
and pest control.

Scheduled speakers will be
public health inspector Sally de la
Rue Browne and vector control of-
ficer Bert Engelmann.

Those planning to attend should
call the NSHD’s Environmental
Health Division at 988-5231.

Clerk robbed

A MAC'S convenience store ca-
shier was punched in the face and
robbed Oct. I].

Three men in their mid-20s
entered the store at {5th Street and
St. Georges Ave. at approximately
9 p.m. and demanded money.

No weapons were produced dur-
ing the robbery, The investigation
by North Vancouver RCMP con-
tinues.
