This summer the Y offers separate day camps for younger and older children. For five to eight-year-olds, both North and West Vancouver offer Summer Fun programs. For older children, aged nine to 12 years, North Vancouver offers Camp Cloverley and West Van- couver offers Camp Inglewood. Both camps provide opportunities for campers to meet new friends, accept new challenges and learn new skills. Activities include day trips, swimming, overnights, canoeing, hiking and outdoor survival skills. The North Shore Family YMCA encourages children with special needs to enrol in its summer programs and special leadership will be supplied if necessary. The North Shore YMCA has a variety of volunteer positions available this summer. Qualifica- tions needed are understanding and patience, enthusiasm and an enjoyment in helping others. Volunteering offers a chance to develop leadership and com- munication skills and gain work experience. Volunteers are needed for the summer programs, which run from June 29 to August 21. Day camps are designed for children from five to 15 years of age. People interested in working lTee off! YMCA volunteers’ with special-needs children can work one-on-one in the integrated day camp programs or in a group setting in the special-needs teen and adult programs. Each program varies in time commitment, and a position can be found to suit various schedules. Volunteer on a daily, evening or weekend basis. For the 6th Annus) - Ambiaside Pitch & Putt Tournament The 6th Annual Ambleside Pitch & Putt Tournament is set for Ro yal regardless of club affiliation or membership. Again this year, there are four divisions: men, women, seniors and youth (16 years and undez), each with plenty of prizes. Qualifying Rounds May be played on any day from Sunday, June 7 through Sunday, June 28. Place your score cards in the toumament box ‘in the clubhouse. Entry fee Is the regular green fee ticket, $4.50 (Seniors and youth - under 16, $2.50 - weekends $4.50) Finals Saturday July 11, weather permitting.
