We shouldn’t simply determine this on how much people are willing to pay,’’ said Dykeman. District business licence rates are currently 20 per cent below fees levied in other Lower Mainland municipalities. But 1987 rates for contractor and retail trader licence categories in the City of North Vancouver are lower than the corresponding 1986 North Van District rates. “I'd like to see us on par or more competitive with the adjacent municipalities," said Ald.
