The 6,500 pound elegant
machine is owned by Bill
Fane of North Vancouver
and has a 7.4 litre, V-12
engine with 24 spark plugs
and two separate ignition
systems.

If you want to put oil in it,
be prepared to drop 13 litres
in addition to the 36 gal. gas
tank.

Mileage? You'll get a
whopping 11 miles per galion
if you're careful.

predescessor of the famous

Merlin engine which drove
the World War I Spitfire.

Originally built for a
justice of the peace in
England, this particular
machine has been in Canada
for 22 years.

And it will move at more
than 100 miles per hour. Bill
Fane has the ticket to prove
it.

Obviously the Phantom
was never designed for
Canada's winters. The car
has no heater and was
designed with a sunroof.

According to Fane, who
has owned the machine for
four years, the engine has
more than 30,000 miles on jt.
