we are viewed as a wealthy
municipality. Well, it’s a
myth, a GVRD (Greater
Vancouver Regional
District) myth,” Humphries

have hardship cases with

roofs, who deserve those
benefits that were meant for
all people who need them,
regardless of what area they

Collier. “We have people
who are just. as needy and
just as deserving as in any
other community.”

Collier told council his
office received numerous
calls asking if West Van-
couver had been designated
for RRAP funding.

Some of them are older
ladies. who are saying they
can’t afford to fix the leaking
roof, and when they cannot
afford to fix the home, ‘it
deteriorates rapidly and
