VRD transfer stations accepting oil

THE GREATER Vancouver
Regional District is accepting used
ail filters for recycling at its solid
waste transfer stations to accom-
modate the do-it-yourself oi!
changer.

Used oi] filters are classified as

a special waste under provincial
regulations and cannot be dumped
at solid waste disposal facilities,
Residents can drop off up to
five used oil filters per visit in che
recycling container provided at the
North Shore Transfer Station, 30

The used oil filters will be ac-
cepted at no charge to the resident
if they are brought in separately,
otherwise they will be weighed in
with the residential waste and in-
cluded in the foad charge.

The GVRD does not accept fig-
uid waste at its facilities.
