@ Mill finish aluminum windows and doors

have lost their appeal over the years especially since white and brown
colours were introduced, however, you can change the colour. First
give che doors and/or windows a rubbing down using acetone thinner
and (0000) stcel wool or super fine steel wool, Caution: protect hands
with leather gloves. This will remove the oxidation on the surface of
the mill finish aluminum and improve the pitted surface making shiny
again. Protect the window and door sills with drop sheets as you don’t
want to damage any painted or vinyl surfaces with the acetone thinner.
Now wash with a trisodium phosphate wash (1 tablespoon in 1 quart
of warm water). Rinse well and allow tc dry. Please use caution - wear
protective cye and hand gear. You are now ready to apply a good
quality exterior acrylic latex paint tinted to match the brown or white
of your choice. Use a nylon or polyester brush to apply the paint.
, Some paint companies are now making an exterior acrylic latex
melamine paint which works just great.
