no less.

Rene Rey came to Canada in
1966 and worked at the then
Vancouver Vocational Institute as a
instruc-
tor. In'1973 he was a victim of lay-
offs at the school and as he puts it,
he “had to do something.”

be chocolate — a product his
family in Switzerland has been
manufacturing since the 1850s.

Of course, companies and re
utations aren’t created overni t
and Rey started out small — in his
North Vancouver home’s base-
ment.

This didn’t last long though as
the health inspector showed up

and put the finishing touches‘on
his home-based business career. in
1974.

Since then he has. changed
locations three times before ‘set
