Until now, owners of collectors’ coins, such as the Montreal and Calgary Olympic coin sezies, who have tried to cash them in at banks, have either not been able to do so or have not received what they consider fair value for their coins. Although most people buy such coins as souvenirs oy gifts, there has been some debate as to their acceptability as legal tender. As banks cannot. redeem coins of any sort with the Bank of Cenada, Canadian banks generally have not been accepting collectors’ coins for cash. The mint believes this new coin exchange program will further Strengthen the attractiveness of collectors’ coins in the market- place. ‘Royal Bank, as a primary sell- er of collectors’ coins, has agreed to facilitate their redemption from the public,” said Royal Bank North Shore area manager Gary Bader. - “People can either receive cash at face value or exchange them for the purchase of new mint pro- ducts. The bank, in turn, will ex- change all such coins received for - = new products from the mint.”” ee , ormal” in your sit- following _ fi igures from eport Expenditure .in sehold -®) Se ,000-$19,999, (c) 320,000- a. $24,999," (d): $25,000-$29,999, .{e) !. -.$30,000-$34,999, (f). $35,000- a “(g) .$49,000-49,999, (h) (i) $60,000- :$70,000-584,998, (Kk) income (f):$1 "344," (g) $2, 357, (hy 32. 955, 8 $3,523, .(j) $4,002, (ky $5,522.
