DISTRICT COUNCIL

UTILITY RATES in 1992
are going up another $35
per year to $427 for the
average West Vancouver
single-family residence.

West Vancouver District Coun-
cil adopted a group of utility
bylaws Dec. 16 that will increase
rates about 8.9% for the average
West Vancouver homeowner.

The highest increase is a 48%
jump in the recycling fee, from
$25 ta $37, to help cover the
budgeted 60% increase in North
Shore recycling servi

The increase will finance better
recycling service to apartments,
including a new program for
apartinent blue boxes,

The GVRD charges for plan-
ning regional recycling ure
budgeted to incre? %,

Composting and mixed pauper
recycling programs will be consid-
ered in the future, but neither
were included in the 1992 rates.
