WHAT -- is the B.C. Registered Music
Teachers Association?

The North Shore Branch of the British Columbia
Registered Music Teachers’ Association was formed
in 1968 in order to promote a high standard of
musical educaiton. Association members are actively
involved in enhancing the musical and cultural life
of our community. Our aim is to continue the high
calibre of music instruction on the North Shore.

WHO — are we?

We are about 75 local private teachers. Our names
and individual specialties can be found by

which indicate he or she is a registered teacher.

WHAT ~— do we teach?

Piano, Harpischord, Organ, Violin, Violo Cello,
Guitar, Voice, Theoretical Subjects, Woodwinds; —
also che Suzuki, Kodaly/Orff and Pace Methods.

We also encourage students to participate in local
music festivals, monthly recitals and Royal
Conservatory of Music (Toronto) and Western Board
Exams.

Our Yamaha grand piano is available to our teachers
for recitals, festivals and is used for the North Shore
Examiniation Centre.

We offer our members the opportunity to upgrade
their skills by participating in workshops and master
classes, presented by prominent clinicians.
