FARCE rages fast aad furious in the land. And nothing
proves it more than the lovely punch-up that took place in
Banff recently when the militant fems got together for a
pow-wow — graced by the preseace of our very own Mary

Collins, MP.

This tax-supported event was
billed as the biggest-ever of its
kind, anid indeed about 1,100 of
the girls were present to utter in-
cantations against what they see as
our foul, male-dominated world.

Adding to the laughs was that it
was the Mother's Day weekend.
Not that anything about
motherhood was on the agen73.
that not being part of the rad:-
cal-feminist resource.

The themes were Women ina
Viotent Scciety, and Women and
Mental Health. Very appropriate,
seeing that from all reports a
bunch of drunks in a pub couldn’:
have handled their fists better
than those peace-loving fems did,
and ihat their mental health often
leaves much to be desired.

Adding to the delicacy and
gteat-mindedness of the occasion
was a call from an American
loony, one Andrea Dworkin, that
women should kill wife-beaters.

“Get thern jailed or get them
Killed,’’ she was quoted as saying.
Robespierre would have been
proud of her.

The punch-up started when a
black fem from South Africa now
living in Toronto read out a
bunch of filth during dinner. (Et
was described in the Globe & Mail
as ‘‘scatalogical terminology.’’)

Three women asked her to per-
form some other time, since even
rad-fems don’t like ta be put off
their fish and chips.

The South African fem was
seeking to educate her white
sisters on ‘‘the clitoral nature of
colonialism’’ and **Western
women’s use of tampons.’’ But
the dinner table clatter was such
that her wisdom could not proper-
ly be imparted.

This was clearly a case of ‘‘rac-
ism,’* especially as the black fem
was mad anyway about the
“whiteness’’ of the Canadian
women’s movement, there being
only about a hundred ‘‘women of
color’? present. (I could have told
her not to worry, and that black,
brown and yellow rad-fems will
soon be in the majority. But !
digress.)

As ‘pandemonium broke out,””
a black fem from Winnipeg could
restrain herself no tonger. She said
that yes, the black fem from
Toronto was a victim of racism.
“We're here as tokens,’’ she said.

Oh, how it delights my
miserable heart to see how profes-
sional females who allegedly
abhor ‘‘racism”’ are themselves
accused of the greatest crime on
earth.

Attempts by a reporter (white
and male, the intrepid fellow) to
identify someone who was chan-
ting a ‘‘healing song’’ were met by

hostile stares.’* But he wasn’t ac-
tually stamped on,

Another gem: B.C.’s top black
fem, Rosemary Brown, late of the
legislature, said in an interview
before the melee began that ‘‘the
movement” had reached a new
level in sophistication. And the
conference was bringing together
“women of disparate groups.’”

Perhaps she meant “‘desperate
groups.”’

Anyway, there marches the New
Canada. A country in which
screaming fems, lesbians, homos,
and freaks of all kinds dominate
the body politic. And why not,
since every bug-eyed leftish outfit
is backed by government and the
bureaucracy?

The conference got $50,000
from the Department of Health
and the Secretary of State’s office
and another $16,500 from the so-
called Tory government of Alber-
la.

Much of the rad-fem stream is
fed by the universities, which are
heavily involved in political indoc-
trination. SFU, for example, is
sponsoring a ‘‘women’s studies
program.” Its pamphlets provide
the tone cn the lamentable, ex-
isting state of affairs.

“White malestream culture
defines and describes women’s
sexuality as, and requires that it
be: heterosexual, phallocentric,
monogamous, depen-
dent/masochistic, age-regulated,
and white ... (also) welcoming of
manipulation, violence and
enslavement.”"

bian Ethics, Female Sexual Slav-
ery."”

And now let’s raise a cheer for
killing men — of which even the
courts now seem to approve in the
case of wife-beaters. And another
cheer for the decline and fall of
the West.
