As the new owners of the Danish Pastry Shop, the Schweiglers are in charge of creating the huge cake thar will be cut up by North Van- couver District Mayor Marilyn Baker and shared by all the revellers who will be gathered on June 9 to celebrate the sixth annual Edgemont Village June Day. In case anyone is counting, it is, in fact, the seventh June Day, but because the first time an event is staged it is not considered an an- nual event, this year the merchants are marking the sixth annual June Day celebration. Colleen Schweigler — whose bakery is also providing the 40 dozen hot dog buns that will be consumed at the refreshinent stand — says she and Peter love the village atmosphere at Edgemont and are already getting to know several of their customers per- sonally. ‘e ¢ [1 - Wednesday. The event will be officially opened at 2 p.m., with the mayor, Burrard Indian band elder Perey Paul and tie Nahanee dancers tak- ing part in the ceremony.
