We're all interested in
conserving energy, but
conserving energy — and the
high cost of gasoline —
needn't overly restrict your
vacauion actvities. The key
to success here, as in most
other activities, is to plan
ahead.

Here are energy-
conserving alternatives to
the yas-guzzling vacation
trip:

1. Stay home. Here's a
great opportunity to visit all
those local spas and spots
you've been meaning to see
for so long!

2. Stay near home. A
nearby campground,
recreation area, hotel, etc.
may give you and= your
family just as much “variety”
and excitement as others
hundreds of miles away.

3. Plan! Have one or two

destinations, not many.
Don't jump from place to
place in a_ haphazard
fashion. Choose a single area

that offers a vanety of ac-

4. Where possible, travel
light: Cut back on excessive
